Taaffeite (1 Carat)

Taaffeite is an incredibly rare gemstone, even more scarce than diamonds, and is prized by collectors and connoisseurs for its rarity and unique colors. Initially mistaken for spinel, taaffeite was identified as a distinct mineral in the 1940s when Irish gemologist Richard Taaffe discovered it had a different refractive index than spinel. It exhibits a range of colors from mauve to bluish purple to red, with the brown variety being a unique addition to its color spectrum.
